El-Shahat delighted with league title win, eyes President Cup glory
Egypt international Hussein El-Shahat revealed his delight after winning the league title with Al Ain, promising the fans more trophies.
The 26-year-old joined Al Ain on a six-month loan from Misr El-Makkasa last January, before the Emariti side decided to sign the Egyptian on a permanent basis last March.
He set the Arabian Gulf League alight with his goalscoring prowess, as the Egyptian managed to score seven goals and provided 10 assists in 10 games only.
His performances helped Al Ain clinch the league title, and El-Shahat revealed his hopes of lifting the President Cup next Thursday.
“Thank God, as you can see we are all very happy because we won the trophy,” El-Shahat said.
“Hopefully, we will win the President Cup next Thursday to make the fans happy again,” he added.
Al Ain will play against Al Wasl in the President Cup final on Thursday, May 3, as they will hope to win the cup title for the first time since 2014.
