Gary Neville picks Salah in his Team of the Season
The former Manchester United full-back chose the 11 players during Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football. The Sky Sports pundit had only one player from the Red Devils in his lineup for the team of the season, while choosing five from his city rivals Manchester City, two Tottenham players and three from Liverpool.
The 43-year-old chose David de Gea between the posts, Jan Vertonghen as a center-back next to Vincent Kompany who has featured only in 16 games in the Premier League.
Kyle Walker and Andrew Robertson occupied the fullbacks positions, while Salah took the only midfield slot not by a Manchester City player as he stands next to Kevin De Bruyne, David Silva and Raheem Sterling.
His front duo were Harry Kane and Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino.
Since the early stages of the season, Neville found the hype around Salah to be an exaggeration and even after receiving the PFA award the former right back said he believes De Bruyne deserves it more.
Salah has 31 goals in the Premier League leveling the best three strikers in the competition’s history, Luis Suarez, Alan Shearer and Cristiano Ronaldo and he is only one step away from becoming the absolute best in a 38 games Premier League.
