Salah failed to score against Brighton this season when Liverpool thrashed them 5-1 last December, however, the Seagulls will face Liverpool again when they visit Anfield on the final day of the season.

And their manager Chris Hughton has praised the Egyptian, saying that no one could have expected the impact he has had this season.

“I think probably the best thing about what he has achieved this season is that it was unexpected,” Hughton told ESPN.

“I don’t think anybody expected him not to have a good season, he’s in a very good side that play a style of football I think suits him.

“I think everybody expected him to have a good season, but not the season he’s had which is absolutely outstanding.

“When he misses a chance at the weekend against Stoke, everybody was almost astounded because of the levels that he has reached.

“But to be able to do that in the fashion that he’s done it, he seems an incredibly humble individual, very down to earth and I’m sure that in some way has helped him to have the season he has had.

“But he’s been absolutely outstanding,” he added.
