Salah receives personal police escort ahead of Rome flight
Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah received a personal police escort in John Lennon airport in Liverpool ahead of their flight to Rome.
The Reds were on their way to Rome to play the second leg of the Champions League semi-final against AS Roma as Salah seemed to be the only player to have been escorted with a personal police officer.
Liverpool are favorites to face Real Madrid in the final of the tournament as they won the first leg with a 5-2 scoreline, giving them a huge advantage on the Giallorossi who have to win with a three goal difference.
The 25-year-old has already 10 goals in the Champions League, two of them came against his old side, and he became the African with the most goals in a single Champions League campaign after beating Eto’o’s longstanding record (8).
Salah is just four goals away from equaling Ian Rush’s record as the Reds player with the most goals in a single campaign (47) with at least three games two go until the end of the season.
If Liverpool manage to qualify for the final on Wednesday it will be their first time reaching this stage of the tournament since the 2006/2007 season. Following this game they will face Chelsea on Sunday to try and secure a European spot next season.
