They will start their group by hosting the Tunisian side at Borg El-Arab on Friday, May 4, with 15,000 supporters attending the encounter.

Al Ahly came on top when both sides met in the quarter-finals of last year’s CAF Champions League, but El-Badry insists that this is a different game.

“This is a completely different game now. The group stage matches are different from knockout ones,” El-Badry told

“But it’s always good to start with a victory, and that’s what we will be playing for.”

El-Badry will head into the game without the services of top scorer Walid Azaro and key man Junior Ajayi, while Saad Samir and Ali Maaloul have been declared fit for the encounter.

“It’s a tough situation no doubt, but we will make sure to have the suitable players for the match,” El-Badry added.

“We have to start in a positive way as our target is nothing but the title itself,” he concluded.
