Mahlambi, Maaloul included in Al Ahly squad for Espérance clash
Al Ahly manager Hossam El-Badry has announced his 23-man squad that will face Espérance de Tunis in the group A opener.

The Red Devils were drawn in group A alongside Botswana’s Township Rollers, Kampala City of Uganda, and Espérance de Tunis.

They will start their group by hosting the Tunisian side at Borg El-Arab on Friday, May 4, with 15,000 supporters attending the encounter.

Hossam El-Badry decided to add Phakamani Mahlambi to the CAF Champions League squad after not naming him in the initial squad.

The squad sees also the return of Tunisia international Ali Maaloul, Saad Samir, Ahmed Hamoudi, and Sherif Ekramy.

On the other hand, Walid Azaro, Junior Ajayi, and Rami Rabia were excluded due to injury, while Mohamed Sherif and Hossam Ghaly were not named in the CAF Champions League squad.

Al Ahly Squad:

Goalkeepers: Sherif Ekramy, Ali Lotfi, Mohamed El-Shennawy.

Defenders: Mohamed Hany, Mohamed Naguib, Ahmed Fathi, Ayman Ashraf, Sabry Rahil, Ali Maaloul, Bassem Ali, Saad Samir.

Midfielders: Hesham Mohamed, Hossam Ashour, Ahmed Hamoudi, Amr El-Sulaya, Walid Soliman, Islam Mohareb, Karim Nedved, Mahlambi, Mido Gaber, Ahmed Hamdi.

Forwards: Salah Mohsen, Marwan Mohsen.
