Mohamed Salah: Winning Champions League is like a dream
Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah has described winning the UEFA Champions League as a dream, revealing what makes him the happiest.
Mohamed Salah will return to the Stadio Olimpico for the second leg of the Champions League semi-finals, after Liverpool managed to take a 5-2 lead to Rome.
If the Reds can overcome AS Roma on Wednesday, they will face Real Madrid in the final, after the Spanish giants beat Bayern Munich 4-3 on aggregate.
A draw will be enough for Liverpool, while Roma will need to win by a three-goal margin to advance to next month’s final in Kiev.
“Winning the UEFA Champions League is like a dream. I always remember when I was 10 and watching the Champions League games at my home,” Salah told ON E.
“My feelings change when I think of how the Egyptian fans are watching me during the Champions League games.
“People in Egypt are watching me on TV and say this player is from our country and gave us hope, and that’s what makes me the happiest.
“I have played against Real Madrid and Bayern Munich before, and I know how difficult it is to beat either of them, but I am focusing on getting past Roma first,” he added.
The Egyptian is having an incredible debut season at Anfield, scoring 43 goals while providing 15 assists in 47 games across all competitions.
Salah is also currently leading the Golden Boot race with 31 goals, four ahead of Tottenham’s Harry Kane, with only three league games remaining.
