Mohamed Salah becomes first Egyptian to reach Champions League final
After breaking the record of Hany Ramzy and Samir Kamouna who were the only players that featured the quarter-finals of the competition, Salah has now helped Liverpool reach the final for the first time since 2006/07.
Although he was out of the squad in the semi-finals and the final, yet former Egyptian striker Ahmed Hossam Mido reached the final of the UEFA Cup with Olympique de Marseille back in 2004.
However, no Pharaoh was able to reach the milestone Salah has reached after defeating the Giallorossi 7-6 on aggregate.
Salah has scored 10 goals for the Reds in this campaign and became the best African goal scorer for a single season in the Champions League.
With his 43 goals in all competitions this season, a win over Real Madrid in the final would make the Egyptian a serious contender for the Ballon d’Or.
