Salah trains at 20 per cent for fear of injury, says Alberto Moreno
Liverpool Spanish defender Alberto Moreno has claimed that Mohamed Salah trains at 20 per cent of his capacity as he attempts to avoid injuries.
Salah has been in impressive form since joining the Premier League side from AS Roma in the summer. The Egypt international has netted 43 goals across all competitions and collected a host of prizes including the PFA Player of the Year and the Writers’ Association’s Footballer of the Year.
“He is a great guy, very humble, very calm,” Moreno told Onda Cero radio about Salah.
“I don’t think on the pitch there is any need to explain what he is like because everybody has watched him play and the numbers are there for everyone to see. He is having a fantastic campaign.
“I don’t think he is the same in training, he trains at 20 percent because he fears getting injured and in order to be at the top form in the games,” the 25-year-old added.
Salah helped Liverpool book their spot in the UEFA Champions League final in Kiev, Ukraine on May 26 where they’ll face Real Madrid.
He netted a brace against his former side AS Roma in the first leg of the semi-final at Anfield, and played the 90 minutes of the second leg, which saw the Reds fall to a 4-2 defeat on Wednesday to advance on a 7-6 aggregate score.
