Salah reveals his relationship with Klopp
Liverpool goal machine Mohamed Salah has discussed his relationship with the club’s German manager Jurgen Klopp following their dramatic 7-6 aggregate win over Roma in the Champions League semi final.
While it has been clear that Klopp has brought the best out of Salah as a player, it has finally been revealed how they get along at a personal level.
“I think he made a difference. He’s a great, great coach, also great man… he helped me a lot to improve myself. I have also confidence to play what I want. We have a good relation together.”
Salah also spoke about his time at Chelsea, particularly around when he left. “I didn’t have my chance [at Chelsea], so I must leave. In my mind, I don’t want to be someone sitting on the bench, and waiting to be number four or five or play two minutes and he’s still in the big club. It doesn’t work.”
He continued, “I went to Fiorentina, and then after I went to Rome, I had two season and a half there in both clubs. I did very good there. And when I had a chance to come back, I said yeah, it’s time to come back to England.”
Liverpool’s next game is a potential top 4 decider with Chelsea this weekend, before their last Premier League game of the season against Brighton the following week followed by the biggest game of Salah’s career so far on May 26th as the Reds take on Real Madrid in the Champions League final.
