Several Premier League clubs in pursuit of Mahmoud Trezeguet - Report

Three Premier League clubs are said to be interested in signing Kasimpasa’s in-form winger Mahmoud Hassan ‘Trezeguet’, according to ESPN.

Trezeguet, who is currently on loan from Belgian club Anderlecht, is having the best season of his career as he contributed to 14 goals and five assists in all competitions this season.

His impressive performances led Kasimpasa to trigger the release clause in his contract to seal the Egyptian’s services on a permanent basis.

However, this didn’t stop Premier League sides Everton, Leicester, and Burnley from monitoring the Egypt international as ESPN claim that they have sent scouts to watch him.

The 23-year-old has been linked last month with a move to Everton and Bournemouth, as well as Turkish giants Galatasaray, who wants to sign the Egyptian next summer to replace Garry Rodrigues.

Trezeguet started his football career at Egypt giants Al Ahly in 2012, donning the famous red shirt until 2015, winning two CAF Champions Leagues, the 2014 Confederation Cup, one league title, and two Egypt Super Cups.

Overall he made 87 appearances for the Red Devils, before joining Anderlecht, however, he endured a difficult start to life with Belguim’s most successful club, as after just 11 appearances, he was loaned out to Royal Excel Mouscron and then Kasimpasa.

However, his time on loan saw him impressing, scoring 21 goals while providing 10 assists in 59 appearances with the two clubs across all competitions.

Trezeguet helped massively in guiding Egypt for the 2018 World Cup after winning two crucial penalties during the qualifiers, including a last-gasp penalty against Congo that earned the Pharaohs their qualification to the World Cup.
