Rüdiger: Salah is the most polite footballer I have ever met
Chelsea defender Antonio Rüdiger is ready to face former teammate Mohamed Salah, saying the Egyptian is the most polite footballer he has ever met.
The Blues will host Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, May 6 as a win will be crucial for both sides in their battle for the top four places.
Liverpool are currently third with 72 points, while Chelsea sit fifth with 66, but the London side still have one game in hand.
And Rüdiger is eager to face Mohamed Salah as the German defender didn’t feature during both sides’ 1-1 draw last November, the game in which Salah scored the opener.
“If I play, it will be a direct duel against Salah. The good thing is, I’m not slow!” Antonio Rüdiger told Football Focus.
“He’s the most polite guy I have ever met in football. He’s a fantastic person.
“Of course you are always a bit surprised but I know his ability, his potential and I knew he would be good for Liverpool,” he added.
Germany international Rüdiger played two years alongside Mohamed Salah during their time at AS Roma, before they both headed to the Premier League.
The Egyptian has been on fire for Liverpool this season, scoring 43 goals while providing 15 assists in 48 games across all competitions.
