Sergio Ramos doesn’t fear Mohamed Salah ahead of Champions League final
Liverpool will be up against the Spanish giants in the final after they knocked out Roma 7-6 on aggregate, while Real Madrid beat Bayern Munich 4-3 over the two legs.
The encounter will be Salah’s first European final, but it’s not his first game against Real Madrid, as the Egyptian faced them in the Champions League round of 16 during his time at Roma.
Despite his unbelievable performances with the Reds this season, which saw him score 43 goals in 49 games, Sergio Ramos is not afraid of Salah, saying he only respects him.
“We have seen what Salah can do this season, but he will just be one of eleven players we face against Liverpool,” Ramos said.
“Throughout my career, I have faced the best forward players in the world — many of them who are considered among the greatest ever.
“For me, there is never a fear. A respect, yes, but never a fear,” the Spaniard added.
Salah, who became the first Egyptian to reach the Champions League final, has scored 10 goals for the Reds in this campaign and became the best African goal scorer for a single season in the Champions League.
He will be hoping to become the only second Arab to lift the Champions League title after Algeria’s Rabah Madjer, who won it with FC Porto against Bayern Munich in 1987.
