Arab Club Championship: Ittihad of Alexandria draw Al Fath, Al Ahly discover possible opponents

Fourth Egyptian representative Ittihad of Alexandria were drawn in Group B of the preliminary round of the and Al Ahly discovered their possible opponents in the round of 32.

The draw for the preliminary round took place on Friday with just one Egyptian representative after Al Masry decided to withdraw from the competition as they are playing in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Ittihad of Alexandria were drawn in Group B alongside Moroccan side Al Fath, Kuwait’s Al Salmiya and the winner between Mauritania’s Benadir SC and ASAS Telecom from Djibouti.

The winner of Group B will face Esperance Sportif de Tunis in the roud of 32 of the competition.

Egyptian champions Al Ahly will face the winner of Group A which includes Tunisia’s Club Africain, Saudi side Al Faisaly, Nejmeh SC from Lebanon and ASAC Concorde from Mauritania.

 The two other Egyptian sides Zamalek and Ismaily will face Kuwaiti sides Al Qadsia SC and Kuwait SC respectively.

Ittihad of Alexandria will kick-off their campaign on May 18th against Al Fath, they will then face Al Salmiya on the 21st and finally they will face the winner between Benadir SC and ASAS Teelecom on the 24th.

As for the three other Egyptian sides they will start the tournament next August.
