Trezeguet: Mohamed Salah deserves to win Ballon d’Or


Mahmoud Trezeguet believes deserves to win the Ballon d’Or this season as well as expressing his happiness following his performances with Kasimpasa.

Trezeguet has been in scintillating form this season, scoring 16 goals and providing eight assists in 32 games with Turkish side Kasımpaşa.

His performances led Premier League sides Everton, Leicester, and Burnley to monitor him ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Egyptian winger spoke to Turkish website, Sporx, about his performances this season, Mohamed Salah’s form, and playing alongside the Liverpool man in the World Cup.

”I am happy with my performances and I hope I can continue like this until the end of the season,” Trezeguet said.

“I scored many goals with the help of my teammates and although I’m happy to be scoring, winning games makes me even happier.”

The 23-year-old winger has registered a brace and a hat-trick of assists in his team’s win over Trabzonspor to reach a tally of 13 goals and seven assists in the league this season

He praised his compatriot and Liverpool’s top goalscorer Mohamed Salah for his performances, saying the Egyptian is the best player in the world this year.

”I am happy with how Salah is performing, he is an amazing person off the pitch and everyone respects him. I hope he wins the Ballon d’Or this season because he deserves it.”

He concluded by saying that they will both shine for Egypt in the World Cup, hoping to represent Egypt in a good way in the competition.

Trezeguet helped massively in guiding Egypt for the 2018 World Cup after winning two crucial penalties during the qualifiers, including a last-gasp penalty against Congo that earned the Pharaohs their qualification to the World Cup.
