Saudi Arabia manager confident of stopping Mohamed Salah

Saudi national team manager Juan Antonio Pizzi is confident his players can keep quiet when his side face Egypt in the .

Mohamed Salah is expected to be Egypt’s most dangerous player in the World Cup after his impressive performances with Liverpool, which saw him score 43 goals in 50 games.

He was one of the main reasons behind the Pharaohs’ qualification for the World Cup, where Egypt will face Uruguay, Russia, and .

And the latter’s manager has hailed the Liverpool winger, saying he is one of the best players in the world, but insisted that his defenders can stop him.

“Mohamed Salah is a very, very talented, player,” Pizzi told Arab News during the AFC Asian Cup draw in Dubai.

“His level at the moment is extremely high and he is certainly one of the best players in the world right now, if not the top on his current form.

“But of course we believe in our players. We have some fantastic defenders and we have confidence in our team, in the skills of our players.

“There will be no special plans for Salah but for sure we have the players who can stop him. We expect a good performance against Egypt; we expect a good performance in all of our group games,” he added.

Egypt starts their World campaign against Uruguay on June 15, before facing hosts Russia and Saudi Arabia on June 19 and June 25.
