OFFICIAL: Ahmed Alaa joins Al Ahly
Alaa impressed at El-Dakhleya during this season, scoring two goals and one assist in 28 games across all competitions, helping the side finish 14th in the Egyptian Premier League.
Al Ahly who are looking to strengthen their defense seem to believe that the 24-year-old is the perfect fit especially after Ahmed Hegazi’s departure to West Bromwich Albion and with injury-prone Rami Rabia in their squad.
It is worth mentioning that Ahmed Alaa is the brother of Zamalek defender Mahmoud Alaa which means that they will most probably face each other in the upcoming Cairo Derbies, much like Tawfik brothers Ahmed and Akram.
The official spokesman praised El-Dakhleya board for being so cooperative, which made the deal end with ease.
“We immediately tried and sign the player especially that Hossam El-Badry wants to strengthen this position,” El Keiy said on Al Ahly TV channel.
The Red Devils are now preparing for their upcoming game in the CAF Chanpions League group stage against Uganda’s Kampala City FC on Tuesday May 15. They will be hoping for a better result following their disappointing 0-0 draw against ES Tunis in the first leg.
