Karim Hafez assists as Lens defeats Auxerre 2-1

Egypt’s left back assisted as Lens defeated Auxerre in the last fixture of the French Ligue 2.

Lens looked to open the scoring early in the game, however they missed a number of good chances to break the deadlock in the first half.

However, just two minutes into the second half, Christian Lopez opened the scoring following an assist by Hafez.

Just five minutes later, Walid Mesloub doubled the lead for the home side, as he sent the ball into the back of the net.

Nine minutes before full time, Francois-Xavier Tamuzo pulled one back for Auxerre reviving their hopes in the game.

Lens maintained composure and defense until the referee blew the full time whistle.

Following the win, Lens finished the league on the 14th spot 43 points.
