Mbaye Diagne scored a hat-trick for the hosts while Elvis Manu scored the guests’ only goal. He was subbed off for Hasan Bilal four minutes from time.
Aly Ghazal – Vancouver Whitecaps (Canada)
May 12 – MLS – Aly Ghazal played 66 minutes in Vancouver Whitecaps’ 2-2 draw with Houston Dynamo. The Egyptian defender then made way for Efraín Juárez with 24 minutes to go. Dynamo regained the lead in the 90th minute through Mauro Manotas but Kendall Waston levelled the scoreline in injury time. Ghazal’s side now sit third on the table with 14 points and will next face San Jose, who sit at the bottom of table.
Ramadan Sobhi – Stoke City (England)
May 13 – Premier League –Ramadan Sobhi played no part as Stoke ended their last Premier League game before life in the Championship with a 2-1 away win at Swansea. Swansea needed a win to have even a minuscule chance of survival, and they appeared to be on their way towards it when Andy King broke the deadlock after 15 minutes. However, Badou Ndiaye and Peter Crouch swung the scoreline in Stoke’s favour just before half time with the second half providing no more goals as Stoke held on to win. The result means that Swansea will join Stoke in the Championship next season.
Amro Tarek – Orlando City (USA)
May 13 – MLS –Although Amro Tarek managed to pull a clearance of his team’s line, Orlando City suffered 1-2 loss to Atlanta United. Ten minutes into the game, Josef Martinez fired the first goal for the visitors from the penalty spot and before the first half wrapped up Ezequiel Barco doubled their lead. In the second half, Orlando City’s Justin Meram managed to pull one back but it wasn’t enough to save the game. This is the Lions’ first loss after six successive victories and they are only six points away from the top of the league with a game in hand.
