Salah: It is unfair to label us as Mohamed Salah’s team
Mohamed Salah finds it unfair to describe the Egyptian national team as Salah’s team, as he believes it is unfair to the rest of his teammates.
In the qualifiers the Pharaoh scored five goals and two assists from the country’s eight goals, leading the nation to their first World Cup in 28 years.
In a recent interview with ONTV satellite channel, Salah was asked what he thinks about calling Egypt’s national team as Mo Salah’s team.
“I’m definitely happy when I hear that title but I find it unfair.”
“It is unfair to describe all the Egyptian team only with Mohammed Salah because my teammates are the reason I am where I am now.”
“My teammates pass the ball to me and prevent us from conceding goals, so it is unfair to describe the team as Mohamed Salah’s team.”
“However in the end, we are all friends and we do not have much to do with what people say,” he added.
Liverpool’s top scorer played an integral role in Egypt booking their spot in the upcoming World Cup and he has high hopes the team can record a historic milestone, better than any African or Arab team in the competition’s history.
