Al-Ittihad win King’s Cup Final against Al-Faisaly
Mahmoud Kahraba’s Al-Ittihad have won the King’s Cup Final at King Abdullah Sports City, after defeating Saleh Gomaa’s Al-Faisaly 3-1 in the final.
It took extra time for Al-Ittihad to beat Al-Faisaly, but Kahraba’s side was able to secure the trophy at the cost of Saleh Gomaa’s team.
Kahraba needed treatment early on, but returned and had a good chance to score in the 23rd minute. Just before the half-time break, Abdulrahman Al-Ghamdi gave Al-Ittihad the lead with a headed goal from a corner.
In the 66th minute, Kahraba was taken off. The other Egyptian, however, made his presence felt as Gomaa assisted Al-Faisaly’s 90th minute equalizer with a cross.
Ittihad controlled the affair in extra time, with Rabeaa Sefiani scoring in the 100th minute to give Ittihad their edge back. Four minutes before the end of the match, Abdulaziz Al-Aryani secured the match with the third goal.
Al-Ittihad finished 9th in the league, but give their fans a trophy to remember the season with. Al-Faisaly finished the league in 6th place.
