Alan Shearer congratulates Mohamed Salah on Premier League record

England and Premier League legend  has congratulated on breaking his Premier League scoring record.

The Egypt international set a new Premier League record for the highest number of goals by one player in a single 38-game campaign, surpassing Alan Shearer, Luis Suarez, and Cristiano Ronaldo.

He also managed to win the Premier League Player of the Season award as well as the Golden Boot after scoring 32 goals in 36 league games.

And Alan Shearer has paid tribute to Mohamed Salah following the Egyptian’s goal against Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday.

“Congratulations, Mo Salah, on beating our record myself, Luis Suarez and Cristiano Ronaldo,” Shearer told Premier League’s official Twitter.

“You’ve had a magnificent season. What an impact you’ve had in that Liverpool team. It must be a joy to play in that team with so many chances created.

“Keep up the good work!” he added.

Salah became the only second African to win the Golden Boot after Ivory Coast legend Didier Drogba, who won the award on two occasions in 2006-07 and 2009-10 respectively.

He also managed to land the PFA Player of the Year award and the Football Writers’ Player of the Year, as well as winning Liverpool’s Player of the Year award.
