Zamalek forward Kabongo Kasongo called up to DR Congo national team
Zamalek forward Kabongo Kasongo has been called-up to the Democratic Republic of the Congo squad for their upcoming friendly against Nigeria.
The Leopards will face Nigeria in a friendly on Monday, May 28, as the Super Eagles are preparing for the World Cup, in which they will face Argentina, Iceland, and Croatia.
DR Congo head coach Florent Ibengé has announced his squad that will play against Nigeria, and it included Zamalek top scorer Kabongo Kasongo.
Kasongo has scored 13 goals in 32 games for Zamalek this season and he is in line to make his international debut after missing a friendly against Tanzania last March due to injury.
He will have a fight on his hands to get a starting spot against Nigeria, as the squad includes a number of great strikers, namely Cedric Bakambu, Britt Assombalonga, and Benik Afobe.

Defenders: Issama Mpeko, Jordan Ikoko, Arthur Masuaku, Fabrice Nsakala, Glody Ngonda, Wilfied Monke, Christian Luyindama, Chris Mavinga, Yannick Bangala Litombo, Gabriel Zakuani.
Midfielders: Chancel Mbemba, Jacques Maghoma, Taguy Ndombele, Aron Tshibola, Neeskens Kebano, Paul Jose Mpoku, Gael Kakuta.
Forwards: Yannick Bolasie, Mubele Ndombe, Chadrack Akolo, Harrison Manzala, Jordan Botaka, Yeni N’Gbakoto, Cedric Bakambu, Britt Assombalonga, Benik Afobe, Kabongo Kasongo, Ben Malango, Rick Tulenge.
