Kampala City defeated Egypt’s giant Al Ahly 2-0 in the second fixture of the CAF Champions League Group Stages.

Al Ahly started on the front foot as the Reds tried to take an early lead away from home.

In the 23rd minute Al Ahly were awarded a penalty kick, but Soliman’s poor effort in the bottom right corner was easily saved by Kampala’s goalkeeper.

Just seven minutes later, Kampala came close to El-Shennawy’s net, but the headed effort went just wide.

Seconds before the halftime whistle, Phakamani shot into an empty net was denied by Kampala’s defence ending the first half in a goalless draw.

74 minutes into the game, Kampala managed to break the deadlock as Ibrahim Saddam unleashed a powerful long range shot that found the back of El-Sehennawy’s net.

In the dying moments of the game, Timothy Dennis Awany doubled the lead for the home side, as he sent the ball home from the spot.

Following the loss, Al Ahly sits in Group A’s bottom spot with one point from two games and are set to face Al Masry on the 20th of May in the final fixture of the Egyptian Premier Elague.

Mohammed Salama is a 21-year-old who fell in love with football since Egypt's AFCON final match against Ivory Coast! Strangely enough an Al Ahly and Al Masry fan locally. In addition, he's a hardcore Bayern Munich supporter.
