Hossam Hassan confident ahead of Al Masry’s clash with Al Hilal
Al Masry coach Hossam Hassan is confident his players can overcome the challenges ahead of their clash with Al Hilal on Wednesday.
The Port Said-based side are set to play against the Sudanese side at Al-Hilal Stadium on Wednesday in the second group game of the CAF Confederation Cup.
Al Masry currently stand top of the table with three points after their 2-0 home victory over HCB Songo in the group opener, while Al Hilal lost their first Group B game to RSB Berkane.
The Egyptian Premier League side will have to do without two of their best forwards; Aristide Bancé and Ahmed Gomaa. The Burkinabé forward will miss through injury after suffering a partial tear in his achilles tendon, while Gomaa, who was recently called up to Egypt squad, will miss due to suspension.
The former Egypt striker, however, believes the rest of the players will be able to compensate for the duo’s absence.
“It’s not the first time to face such circumstances as the team have been through similar situations before and were able to overcome the absence of several key players during the last three seasons,” Hassan said.
Al Masry captain Islam Salah also expressed the players’ desire to get a positive result against Hilal to meet the expectations of the Al Masry fans and technical team.
