The Pharaohs have managed to retain their spot in the rankings in May after dropping for three months in a row to reach 636 points. They have also maintained their fifth position amongst other teams in the African continent.
Tunisia, Senegal, Congo DR and Morocco’s rankings were all also unchanged with the Carthage Eagles maintaining 14th place worldwide and sitting at the top of the African rankings. Senegal and Congo DR sit 28th and 38th, respectively while Morocco are 42nd.
Egypt’s World Cup opponent Saudi Arabia have moved up three spots after defeating Algeria and Greece in friendlies in May to reach 67th spot worldwide and fifth in Asia, while rankings of Uruguay and Russia remained unchanged in 17th and 66th places, respectively.
The top 10 positions saw no changes as Germany maintained their place on top of the FIFA rankings, followed by Brazil, and Belgium.
