Renard names Morocco’s World Cup squad, Azarou misses out
Morocco coach Herve Renard has announced his final 23-man squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, with additional three players left out as reserves.
Morocco had embarked once again on the international platform for the first time since 1998 after they topped their World Cup qualifiers group, being the only African side to not concede any defeats in their route to qualification.
The Atlas Lions list for the prestigious tournament did not include the name of Al Ahly striker and Egyptian Premier League top scorer, who marked his return to the national team last March. Additionally, Al Hilal forward Achraf Bencharki wasn’t named among the squad after Moroccan reports claimed he would be called.
