Liverpool players and Dejan Lovren sat together and discussed their growing friendship and what they expect from playing in the final against Real Madrid in Kiev.

In an interview aired on the club’s official channel LFCTV, the duo joked about how their friendship first started with Lovren saying that they only became friends because an injury Emre Can sustained that led him to having to warm-up with someone else.

Salah on the other side asked if the defender’s performances improved in the past months after they developed their close bond.

“To be honest you kill my confidence,” Lovren said.

Both players continued teasing each other joking about a lunch bill Salah offered to pay for at Marbella but Lovren ended up paying the bill.

“When you got the bill? Well, you offered to pay but it was me in the end who paid! It’s easy when you offer and somebody else pays,” Lovren explained.

Salah defended himself by saying: “No, no, I paid half. I offered to pay in the restaurant but you said “no no no no no, everyone has to put his credit card in and after we choose”. Then I said “please no I am lucky in that” but you do it and after your card. I told you to let me pay.

The duo also discussed the start of their Champions League campaign and how they managed to reach the final game eventually.

“To be honest if you look at our team now compared to the beginning you see the improvement in each round, each game. We were fighting to be in the Champions League and now we are in the final Champions League game. It is something huge. It’s hard work and dedication,” Salah said.

The Egyptian star and team top scorer assured that he was expecting to reach the final game from the start saying that the Manchester City away game was the toughest for the team in his opinion.

Lovren further asked Salah about what is he expecting from the final against the Spanish giants and if this will be the biggest game of his life.

“For me, each game is just a game. I focus always to win it and you know I don’t just want to put myself under pressure just to not perform in my way but in the end I know it is an important game for everyone,” The 25-year-old winger explained.

“Huge game and everyone is excited in the city and at the club. We have to just focus and concentrate on the game and do less mistake as much as we can.”

Lovren added and said I that if they played a similar game to the one they played against Man City in the final then they will be able to overcome Real Madrid.

“Afterwards we can say, no matter what happened to go with our head up and to know we gave everything,” the defender concluded.
