Kuwait manager Radojko Avramović targets win over Egypt
Kuwait national team will be looking to beat Egypt in their upcoming friendly game, according to manager Radojko Avramović.
The Pharaohs are set to face Kuwait in a friendly at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium on Friday in preparations for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
The 68-year-old coach praised the Egyptian national team, but said that he has faith in his players and their ability to put in a strong performance.
“The Egyptian national team include very good players but we have faith in our players and I’m confident they’ll play a fierce game. The Egyptians will face a team that’s fully prepared for this historical game,” the Serbian coach said according to several reports.
Avramović revealed he’s targeting a win against the Pharaohs to create a good memory for the Kuwaiti fans before his departure, promising the fans to watch impressive performances from the Kuwaiti players.
Egypt will play the Kuwait friendly without their key player Mohamed Salah, who is set to play the UEFA Champions League final against Real Madrid in Kiev on Saturday.
Following the Kuwait game, the Pharaohs will fly to Italy to meet up with Colombia’s national team on June 1, before traveling to Brussels for a tougher task against Belgium few days before heading to Russia.
Egypt were drawn in Group A of the World Cup group stages alongside Saudi Arabia, hosts Russia and Uruguay. They are set to kick off their campaign in the competition against Uruguay on June 16, before playing against Russia and Saudi Arabia on June 19 and June 25.
