In an interview with Frank Lampard for BT Sport, spoke about his experience at Chelsea, how his time in Italy helped him develop and his relationship with

The Pharaoh started by talking to Lampard about his time in Chelsea and how he developed with Fiorentina and Roma.

“At Chelsea I was still a little kid that did not play much, but I learned a lot from Jose [Mourinho] and from the club.

“I needed change so I went to Italy, I grew a lot there as a player and as a person, but in my mind I always wanted to comeback and prove myself here.”

The former Chelsea midfielder asked Salah about his new role at and how Klopp turned him into a top goal scorer.

“The way we play I cut to the inside more often and in some cases as you saw the game against Manchester City, I played as a no 9 and Bobby [Firmino] played as a wide man, so I believe the way we play helped me a lot.

“From the first day my relationship with the manager was very good, he knew how to treat me very well, he dealt with me as a friend and I’m not just talking about our relationship on the field but outside too, I can say he is a good friend of mine.”

Salah scored 32 goals in 38 Premier League games under Klopp this season, better than any player in the competition’s history.
