Cuper refuses to offer advice to Salah ahead of Champions League final
The Egypt international is currently preparing for the final showdown of the 2018 UEFA Champions League between Real Madrid and Liverpool in Kiev on Saturday.
“I won’t advise Salah and I wish him good luck,” Cuper said in a press conference ahead of Egypt’s friendly game against Kuwait.
Salah will miss Egypt’s game against Kuwait set to be held at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium on Friday.
Following the Champions League final, Salah will travel to Italy to join the Egyptian national team, who are set to face Colombia in friendly match on June 1, and then take off to face Belgium in Brussels on June 6 in preparation for the World Cup.
The 62-year-old Argentine coach revealed that the new faces that were included in the national team squad will take part in the Pharaohs’ friendlies ahead of the global showpiece event.
“I have a group of a wonderful players who believe in the technical staff. I’ll try to do some changes ahead of the World Cup,” Cuper added.
Egypt have been drawn in Group A of the World Cup group stage alongside hosts Russia, Saudi Arabia and Uruguay. They will start their World Cup campaign against Uruguay on June 15, then will play against Russia and Saudi Arabia on June 19 and June 25.
