Liverpool midfielder has highly praised his teammate for his ‘unbelievable’ scoring record this season, stating that he is level with Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi this term.

Salah had an extraordinary with the Reds this season, after he concluded the season being the Premier League top goalscorer with record 32 goals. The 25-year-old forward’s accomplishments on personal level allowed him to be named the Premier League Player of the Year.

The former Roma winger will be lining up with his Liverpool teammates on the 26th of May as they seek to defeat Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Kiev and clinch the sixth title in the club’s history.

“Mo has been incredible this season. The way he has scored goals has been unbelievable, not only for him, but also for us and the supporters — everybody who witnessed it,” Wijnaldum told ESPN.

“What he did this season in the Premier League was unbelievable and I really hope he can do it in the final, and take his form from the Premier League and what he has done in the Champions League into the final, because it will help us and give us a bigger chance to win it.”

The Netherlands international reckons that Salah could be put into comparison with Ronaldo and Messi this season, but argued that the Egyptian has to carry on his top level performance for many years to come.

“It’s difficult to say. Messi and Ronaldo do it for years, but this season, he can definitely compete with them. But if you want to speak about the level of Messi and Ronaldo, a player has to do it for many more years.”
