Kuwait captain: We wanted to face Salah
Kuwait national team captain Fahd Al-Ansary that he is excited to face Egypt but he wanted to face Mohamed Salah.
Egypt are set to face the Kuwaiti national team in Kuwait on Friday in their first friendly game in preparation for the World Cup before facing both Colombia and Belgium on June 1 and 6 respectively.
“The game is going to be tough. The Kuwaiti national team is starting from scratch after FIFA removed their ban on Kuwaiti football,” Al-Ansary said.
“We would’ve hoped to face Salah because he’s a great player and the Egyptian national team has great players,” he added.
Kuwaiti national team Serbian coach Radojko Avramovic also praised the Egyptian national.
““The Egyptian national team include very good players but we have faith in our players and I’m confident they’ll play a fierce game. The Egyptians will face a team that’s fully prepared for this historical game,” Avramovic said.
