Ronaldo de Lima 'loves' Mohamed Salah, compares him to Messi

Football legend Ronaldo Nazário de Lima has spoken of his admiration for , adding the Egyptian’s style is similar to Lionel Messi.

Mohamed Salah’s sensational performances this year has earned him the praise of a number of footballing legends, including PeleDidier DrogbaThierry Henry, Maradona, and Rivaldo.

But this time it was the Brazilian Ronaldo who heaped praise on the Egyptian ahead of the UEFA Champions League final on Saturday.

Liverpool will face Real Madrid in the final on May, 26 in Kiev, with the Spanish side eyeing a third consecutive European title.

On the other hand, Liverpool have reached their first Champions League final in 11 years and will be hoping to win their first trophy under Jurgen Klopp.

“Salah, I love him. He is an incredible player with a tremendous quality,” Ronaldo told El Partidazo de COPE.

“He looks like Messi. I recently read him saying that I had been his inspiration and I was excited.”

Despite an incredible footballing career, Ronaldo has never won the UEFA Champions League with Barcelona, Inter Milan, Real Madrid or AC Milan.

He came close to do so during the 2002/2003 season with Real Madrid, but his side lost to Juventus in the semi-finals. Also in the 2007 season, AC Milan managed to lift the trophy, but he couldn’t take part in the competition as he was cup-tied with Real Madrid.

Meanwhile, Mohamed Salah will be hoping to become the only second Arab to lift the Champions League title after Algeria’s Rabah Madjer, who won it with FC Porto against Bayern Munich in 1987.
