Egypt national team start final World Cup preparations
Egypt head coach Hector Cuper and his men kicked off their final preparations ahead of the World Cup in the team’s camp in Italy.
The Pharaohs have two friendly games left against Colombia and Belgium on June 1 and June 6 respectively, before they head to the World Cup for the first time in 28 years.
Egypt FA announced that one training session only was held on Saturday at 7:00 pm, two hours before Iftar, while the one-hour meeting between Cuper and his players was held in the morning.
Recently, the Egyptians snatched a late draw against Kuwait in a friendly that was held at the Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium. Adding two friendlies against Greece and Portugal, which they lost 1-0 and 2-1, Colombia’s match will be the fourth friendly for the Pharaohs.
Egypt were drawn in Group A alongside hosts Russia, Saudi Arabia and Uruguay. They will kick off their group stage games on June 15, before facing Russia and Saudi Arabia on June 19 and June 25.
