Egyptian president wishes Mohamed Salah a speedy recovery
The Egyptian was injured after landing on his shoulder following a heavy challenge with Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos, in the final Champions League match, which made him leave the field in tears after only 30 minutes.
In the immediate aftermath of the incident, there were several mixed reports on the extent of the injury including a dislocated shoulder and a clavicle fracture, with several reports claiming he’ll miss the World Cup. However, it was confirmed on Sunday that he suffers a strain in the shoulder ligaments and that he’ll be back on the field in three weeks.
The president stated the he talked to Salah and tweeted, “I connected with the Egypt’s and my son Mohamed Salah to check on him after he was injured. As I expected, I found him a stronger hero than his injury and saw his excitement to participate in the tournament and shining. I have assured him that he has become an Egyptian symbol that makes every Egyptian proud and glorious. I pray to God, as a dad praying for his son, to protect him and recover him well.”
