Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has sent a message of support to following his unfortunate injury in the Champions League final against .

Salah was on the wrong end of a well documented tangle with which led to the Egyptian ending his season in heartbreaking fashion, picking up what appears to be a shoulder injury with the full extent of the injury still unknown.

In the aftermath of the game, Salah has received several messages of support from the footballing world and the outreach of the support has now been extended to politicians with Sisi sending a supportive message of his own.

From his official Twitter account, Sisi said “My sincerest wishes to the Egyptian hero, Mohamed Salah, to recover soon…I wish he returns to the pitch soon and to be always a shining Egyptian star”.

Understandably, football fans the world over are hoping that Salah will be fit to play in the World Cup following his astonishing individual season at club level which has seen him become a contender to win the Ballon d’Or for 2018.

With the extent of his injury still unknown, should Salah be fit for the World Cup his first game there will be against Uruguay on June 15th at 2PM Egyptian time.
