Mohamed Youssef returns to Al Ahly as new director of football

Al Ahly announced in an official press release the names of the new technical team appointing former coach Mohamed Youssef as the team’s director of football.

The Red Castle are yet to sign a new head coach to replace resigned manager Hossam El-Badry after their attempts to reach a deal with Argentinian coach Ramon Diaz failed.

The board decided to hire former coach Mohamed Youssef, who led the team in 2013/14 season as the new director of football. Sami Qomsan will also join the technical staff as an assistant coach, while Hossam Ghaly will be joining as general coordinator and staff member.

On the club’s official website, the board said that as they aim to finish negotiations with the club’s new coach, they decided to carry on with hiring the new technical staff as the Red Devils are preparing for the CAF Champions League return.

Additionally, former Al Ahly forward and current football pundit Mohamed Fadl will handle the director of transfers position, while  El Keiy remains head of the transfers committee.

In addition to being a hardcore football fan, Abdelrahman is a communications enthusiast who works in marketing, advertising, content creation and PR.
