Rabeh Madjer: I wanted Salah to win the Champions League

Algeria national team manager has expressed his sadness for ’s failure to win the UEFA Champions League with Liverpool.

The only Arab player to win the Champions League was rooting for Salah’s Liverpool in the final match where Liverpool lost to Real Madrid 3-1 and saw Salah get injured.

“I am sad Salah lost the final,” he said. “I wanted him to win it as it would’ve been an Arab achievement.”

The Premier League Player of the Year had reassured the Egyptian fans that he is confident he will be ready for the Egypt’s World Cup campaign in Russia, consolidated by the Egyptian FA president Hany Abou-Rida’s statements who asserted that the Pharaohs star will catch the World Cup.

Madjer confirmed that he wished Salah success in the Champions League final, calling everyone to support him in the time being.

Doubts are circulating around Salah’s ability to be ready in time for Egypt’s World Cup group opener against Uruguay due to his shoulder injury but is expected to be fit for the second encounter against the hosts Russia.
