CAF President backs Mohamed Salah for Ballon d’Or

CAF President Ahmad Ahmad has showed his support for Liverpool star , in statements released on Thursday, to win the Ballon d’Or. As well as supporting Morocco to host the 2026 World Cup.

The Malagasy president supported Morocco to host the World Cup saying it would be a great honor for all the African continent thanking their king, Mohamed the Sixth, for entering the bid to host the global event.

“We have to admit that Africa doesn’t have many countries that would be able to host the World Cup but thanks to Morocco’s advancements and capabilities they can and we are proud of that,”

“Being a CAF president I would be happy if a country from a federation I am heading to nominate itself as it gives the continent a chance to host the competition, that is why I fully support Morocco.”

Ahmad moved on to Mohamed Salah’s chances of winning the Ballon d’Or after his top form with Liverpool and Egypt this season, despite his team’s debacle in the Champions League final against Real Madrid.

“Everyone in the continent want Salah to win the award, not only Egypt. It would be an honor for Africa if he wins as it would be an African player who won the award,”

“We are aware that it depends on his performance with Egypt in the World Cup and with Liverpool next season and we hope this gives him more luck to become the second African to win it after George Weah,” he concluded.

Youssef Wael is a massive Al Ahly and Manchester United supporter from Cairo, Egypt. One of the few Egyptians who never really wanted to have a career in football, just played it as a hobby. Wael also played squash for 7 years.
