winger believes that Russia have to go all out in every game at the World Cup, largely due to their home advantage.

In an interview with Spanish news outlet Marca, Cheryshev has expressed the attitude of the Russian team going into the first World Cup they will participate in as hosts, saying they will go into it “with a lot of enthusiasm, not only for the players but for the fans.”

He continued, “Playing at home is always a big help because practically all the fans go with the host team. Surely that will encourage us and we have to help achieve the objectives. Because playing a World Cup is any football player’s dream. Since childhood, when you start in football, you dream of playing something like that.

The former Real Madrid winger went on to explain what he knows about their group stage opponents – Uruguay, Egypt and Saudi Arabia.”From Saudi Arabia we knew a little bit a prior, from what Salem told us, who has been here with us at Villarreal. He has a very high level as a footballer, although he has not played much in Villarreal, but he is a great player and he has told me some things about his team and he asked me about ours as well.”

Egypt has one of the best players this year as Salah and we do not know much more, Elneny from Arsenal and little else. And Uruguay has great players, they are going to make things complicated, but we, playing at home, have to go out and win everything.”

Russia get the tournament underway on June 14th at 5PM Egyptian time against Saudi Arabia.
