Mohamed Salah collects a hat-trick of FPL awards
Liverpool and Egypt star Mohamed Salah has been rewarded for his magnificent 2017/2018 season which granted him to be a hero on digital platform too, clinching three awards in the Fantasy Premier League.
Salah ended the season with 44 goals in all competitions recorded to his name in the season the just elapsed season, coming behind Barcelona phenomenon Lionel Messi, who scored 45 goals, in the goal scorers ranking in Europe’s top five leagues. He ended the English Premier League as top scorer with 32 goals and was named PFA Player of the Year.
The 25-year-old forward had previously managed to break the record in FPL for getting the most points to his name in a single season with 303 points.
FPL published on their official website that Salah was named a fan favourite as he was the most popular player in the game, owned by 56.7 per cent of the 5.9 million managers. Furthermore, the Egypt international recorded the biggest price increase as he jumped an extraordinary £1.6m, from his starting price of £9.0m to £10.6m.
The previous two accolades came in addition to Salah’s former success which is surpassing the previous high of 295, set in 2013/14 by former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez and secured 303 points.
