Tanzania international Himid Mao completes move to Petrojet

international  has joined Egyptian side Petrojet on a free transfer, occupying the club’s final foreign player slot.

The 25-year-old midfielder has penned a three-year deal that will keep him at the club until 2021, becoming their tenth signing of the summer.

The club have already completed the signings of Ahmed Raouf, Patrick Wleh, Ahmed Sobhi, Ahmed Sebaie, Ibrahim El-Kadi, Abdallah Gomaa, Ahmed Abdelrasoul, Ahmed Mostafa, and Hamada Galal.

Himid Mao represented the Tanzanian national team 38 times, playing 90 minutes against Egypt during his country’s 2-0 home loss in the 2017 AFCON qualifiers.

He will become the club’s fourth foreign player alongside Ethiopia’s Shimelis Bekele, Omar Najdi of Morocco, and Liberia’s Patrick Wleh, who joined the club this summer.

Petrojet wanted to bolster their squad after a disappointing campaign, which saw them finish 12th in the Egyptian Premier League, only 11 points away from the relegation zone.
