Abdallah Bakri joins Al Batin on season-long loan from Smouha
The defender performances in the Egyptian Premier League had resulted in Egypt’s two biggest clubs, Al Ahly and Zamalek, showing interest in signing him.
However, both clubs couldn’t match Smouha’s valuation and the Alexandrian side decided to loan him to Al Batin until the end of the 2018-19 season.
He becomes the second Egyptian player to represent Al Batin after former FC Basel and current Al Ahly winger Ahmed Hamoudi, who had a short stint there in 2016.
Bakri joined Smouha last summer from second division side Nabrouh, making 18 appearances for them and registering one assist.
He helped the team finish fifth in the Egyptian Premier League as well as reaching the Egypt Cup final, which Smouha lost on penalties against Zamalek after Barki missed his penalty.
Al Batin finished the 2017-18 season in the 11th place, only seven points away from the relegation zone. They also reached the King Cup semi-finals and were knocked out from the round of 16 of the Crown Prince Cup.
