international has defended Hector Cuper’s tactics, saying the pharaohs are going to the World Cup to leave their mark.

The Zamalek midfielder is considered one of Cuper’s key men, with the 29-year-old starting six of the eight 2018 World Cup qualifiers.

Hamed is also expected to partner Mohamed Elneny in the midfield and start all of Egypt’s World Cup games next June.

He revealed that Egypt are going to the World Cup to leave their mark despite the criticisms of Hector Cuper’s tactics, which the player defended.

“We are going to the World Cup to perform positively. We want to leave our mark in the tournament,” Hamed told Egyptian Radio channel 9090.

“Hector Cuper’s tactics are not defensive, but it’s characterized by its tactical discipline.

“We will do our best to achieve positive results as our performances on the pitch is what grants us the win and not the shirts’ crest,” he added.

Egypt are getting ready to take on Belgium in preparation for the World Cup before the start of the World Cup in mid-June.

The Pharaohs were drawn in group A alongside hosts Russia, Saudi Arabia, and Uruguay. They will kick off their group stage games on June 15, before facing Russia and Saudi Arabia on June 19 and June 25.
