Former Egypt international has joined newly promoted side on a free transfer, the club have announced on Tuesday.

The 34-year-old has agreed to join El-Gouna on a two-year deal following the termination of his contract with Al Assiouty, after spending only one season with them.

Okka was one of the key reasons behind Al Assiouty’s success last season, making 34 appearances for them and scoring one goal. He helped them achieve their best-ever league finish as well as reach the Egypt Cup semis.

El-Gouna will become his ninth club after a long career, which saw him play for Ismaily, Harras El-Hodoud, Wadi Degla, Lierse SK, Smouha, Misr El-Makkasa, Entag El-Harby, and Al Assiouty.

He has won over 30 international caps and scored his only goal with Egypt in a friendly against Lebanon in 2012, which the Pharaohs managed to win 4-1.

Okka was also part of the Egypt squad that played in the 2009 Confederations Cup, playing 90 minutes against Brazil and Italy, but missed the 2010 AFCON.

El-Gouna have completed the signings of a number of experienced players this summer, most notably Mohamed Nagy Geddo, Ahmed Eid Abdelmalik, Ahmed Magdi, Ahmed Ali, Loay Wael, and Islam Roshdi.

They were promoted to the Egyptian Premier League for the first time in three years, with next season being their fifth in the top tier.
