Kasimpasa respond to Trezeguet’s link with Galatasaray
After being linked with Turkish champions Galatasaray, Kasimpasa sporting director Nursal Bilgin confirmed that if Egypt international Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet stays in Turkey he will only play for Kasimpasa.
The young star had an incredible season with the Turkish side scoring 16 goals and assisting eight across all competitions, and was included in the Super Lig team of the year according to statistics website WhoScored.
Bilgin said before that there is an abnormal demand for Trezeguet from both Turkish and non-Turkish outfits, but pointed out that he thinks the player does not want to leave.
“Trezeguet exceeded all expectations this season,” the sporting director told Turkish BeIN Sports. “All this happened because he is mentally fit and happy playing for Kasimpasa.”
The 23-year-old is currently preparing for the World Cup with the Egyptian national team, they will face Colombia and Belgium on June 1 and 6 respectively before kicking-off their World Cup campaign against Uruguay on June 15.
He helped massively in guiding Egypt for the 2018 World Cup after winning two crucial penalties during the qualifiers, including a last-gasp penalty against Congo that earned the Pharaohs their qualification to the World Cup.
In addition to Galatasaray, the player was also linked to Seria A outfir Fiorentina and several English Premier League sides including Burnley, Watford and Leicester City.
His impressive performances led Kasimpasa to trigger the release clause in his contract to seal the Egyptian’s services on a permanent basis.
“He will not play in any other club in Turkey, because he only wants to play in Kasimpasa,” he added. “Soon the club chairman will reveal his future.”
