Smouha close to signing Derrick Nsibambi from KCCA
Ugandan striker Derrick Nsibambi is on the verge of joining Alexandrian side Smouha from Kampala Capital City Authority.
According to KingFut’s sources, Aly Maher is very close to becoming the new Smouha coach. The 44-year-old wanted Nsibambi during his spell at Assiouty Sport last summer but the clubs failed to agree a fee. Now he is after the player again as he is about to take over at Smouha.
The striker of the Uganda national team scored against Egyptian Premier League side Al Masry in last season’s CAF Confederation Cup. He also assisted a penalty in his side’s 2-0 win over Al Ahly, when he was introduced as a substitute a few weeks ago in the CAF Champions League.
Nsibambi faced Egypt in the World Cup qualifiers when the Pharaohs played against Uganda last year and a move for the 24-year-old will be his first chance to play abroad.
Last campaign, Smouha finished in fifth position and held the second best defensive record in the Egyptian Premier League. They will be hoping the goals of Nsibambi will help them reach a higher standing in the table next season.
