Al Ahly to name new manager on Thursday
Al Ahly have announced that they will name their new manager on Thursday, revealing that they have reached an agreement with three coaches.
The managerial seat at Al Ahly has been vacant since the resignation of Hossam El-Badry, who is now close to land the job at Tunisian side Etoile du Sahel.
El-Badry has resigned following a run of disappointing results, which saw Al Ahly get knocked out from Egypt Cup as well as losing to Kampala FC in the Champions League.
The Red Devils have announced that they have reached a final agreement with three managers from Czech Republic, Uruguay, and Portugal, and will reveal their final decision on Thursday.
According to several reports, the Czech manager is believed to be Karel Jarolím, who is currently taking charge of the Czech Republic national team.
Portuguese manager Jose Gomes is also a name that has been linked with the vacant managerial seat, with reports claiming that he has reached an agreement with Al Ahly.
A statement on the club’s official website stated that the board have set several criteria for selecting the new manager, including that he must be young, ambitious, and have a strong personality.
He also must know how to communicate with the players as well as having the ability to handle the pressures.
