Belgium’s Courtois praises Trezeguet
Goals from the Manchester United duo Lukaku, Fellani and Chelsea’s Eden Hazard had sealed the win for the Belgian Red Devils over the Pharoahs in their final friendly encounter on Wedensday before the World Cup.
“Egypt’s game was not easy,” Courtois told satellite channel On Sport following the game.
“Their performance differed a lot after Trezeguet was subbed in. He threatened us the most,” the Chelsea shot stopper said. “They could have scored if they were better in the final third.”
“We scored three goals past them because they don’t usually concede many goals,” he added.
Belgium have been draw in Group G alongside Tunisia, England and Panama, while Egypt will face Uruguay, Russia and Saudi Arabia in Group A after qualifying for the World Cup for the first time in 28 years.
On whether or not Egypt and Tunisia were similar, Courtois said: “I do not think the two teams are similar, we will wait and see.”
